Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, and other sexual and gender minorities are at greater risk of attempting and dying by suicide than straight and/or cisgender persons. Interpersonal, community, and structural factors contribute to elevated risk. At the same time, some of these same factors can also promote resilience—the ability to bounce back after a setback.
LGBTQ+ communities have historically demonstrated great resilience in the face of adversity. This event is designed to support the resilience of LGBTQ+ community members and to help attendees help others feel less alone and more supported.
